Website Do you want to keep it?

I know some of you really enjoyed the website so my question to you is it worth paying for?  It is $120 per year and if we can get enough sponsors or gifts we will renew our subscription.  You can be a sponsor by paying $30  and an ad will be displayed on the welcome page for one year.  You can research this at Classquest frequently asked questions.   Of course there are upgrades for $60 or more. If 10 people want to pay $10 each we can do it that way or whatever contribution you would  like to make...any extra funds can be put in our reunion bank account.  News of next reunion coming soon.  Let me know what you think just email me at bowmanboysmom@yahoo.com.   We need to do this as soon as possible.  I thought I had read it would stay up for 30 days but now it looks like it may stay up with certain things but loose functionality such as post, emails via the site etc.  I personally am willing to contribute to this cause if others think it is worth it.  Pease let me know ASAP.

I am having knee replacement surgery on Nov 1 and may not have enough sense to do anything with this for severaly days. LOL

There is No Deadline for Reunion Tickets Pay at the Door

We really want to see everyone at the reunion.  We have been blessed with many people attending and we want to see everyone possible.  This reunion is for having fun and sharing memories.  We have all aged in different ways and all have our stories but most of all we share memories!

Tomorrow is the deadline for tickets

Hey everyone tomorrow is the deadline for ticket purchase.  Have you just forgot about it and not set down and input the info on this site or mailed a check?  Let us know if you need more time and maybe we will be able to go just a few more days to help everyone out.  We have to purchase items for the reunion and also need to give the caterer a headcount.  We really want to see each and everyone of you there.

Memories

High school was when we enjoyed life to the fullest, oblivious to responsibilities, worries, or what the future would hold. Despite how hard we tried and the incessant heartbreaks we went through, they were some of the best years! As friends drifted away with their lives and duties, promises to stay in touch were lost somewhere along the way.

However, there are times when glimpses of years pass through our minds, and we yearn to go back to that life of fun and joy, even just for a day. Hence, arranging a reunion party is a great way of meeting our old friends, thus refreshing the old memories. to stay in touch were lost somewhere along the way

Road trip.

For all reunion classmates and guest, we are planning a road trip to get a sampling of Dave Evan's band before the reunion.  We will be going to Cielito Lindo in Vonore, Tn on Aug 21st,  The band plays from 6:30 - 8:30.  I have heard them before and they are very good.  They play a lot of classics from back in the day.  More info to come later and we will try to get a head count so that Dave can reserve seating for us.  Look forward to seeing lots of you there.

The Reunion will be great.

We are less than 3 months away, from our 50th. I hope all who can make it, will attend. Friday and Saturday will be full of memories and sharing. I am very glad to be working with an awesome group of classmates, in making these 2 nights in October, something we will remember, the rest of our days.

Looking forward to our Reunion

We are having so much fun talking about old times and sharing funny stories while planning the reunion. We are looking so forward to seeing everyone there. There are a lot of stories we all remember like Mrs. Lindsey flipping her wig but even though I was friends with Darlene I did not remember her having lunch with our janitor about once a week. That just proves that we had really good people in our class. That is why I can't wait to see all of you and have an evening of fun. We have waited 30 years to have a reunion so it is time to get together and make up for all those years passed by!

In Memory of a Classmate

It is with great sadness I share that our classmate and friend, Tommy Hembree passed away Saturday April 18, 2020.  His son posted on Facebook that Tom passed after a short illness and was surrounded by his family.  Tom most recently lived in Naples, Florida and was blessed with two children.  His dear wife passed away in 2015.

Peggy Reese
In Memory of a Classmate

It is with great sadness I share that our classmate, friend and member of the Reunion Committee passed away 2/20/21.  She really enjoyed our meetings and seeing everyone at the reunion.  Sharon had been living in the Nashville area for a number of years and was blessed with two beautiful children.  We will truly miss her smiling face and the kindness she always shared.

Rest in Peace

Dear Friend: Rest In Peace my dear friend!

Deborah Patton

It is with great sadness that I share the news of Roland Jackson Brown's passing.  Roland had been battling cancer for some time.  I remember him as being a great guy with a calmness about him.  He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Midtown.  Roland loved being a radio announcer with WECO in Wartburg, Tn for over ten years.

In Memory of David Waldo

It is with great saddness that I share another classmate has passed.  David Waldo passed on January 25, 2022.  David had intended on coming to our Christmas Party last year but did not make it.  That is why we encourage everyone to come because we never know when we may never see each other again.  David was a retired truck driver and was an active member of the "Hardees Club".

Peggy Reese
In Memory of David Burnard Martin

It is with great sadness that I post the passing of one of our dear friends and classmates.  Dave passed away on October 31 following complications following surgery.  Dave attended college in Tennessee prior to joining the Air Force in 1969 and was stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Bernice. Dave and Bernice were soon engaged and planning their life together when he was deployed to Thailand and Vietnam during the Vietnam War. After Dave returned from the Vietnam War, he and Bernice were married and began a family. He lived and worked in San Angelo, where all three children were born. As the aviation industry changed, so did the companies he worked for, and the Martin family moved and settled in Fort Worth, Texas, where they made a lifetime of wonderful memories.
Dave loved sports and laughing with his kids and grandkids. He was a stranger to no one and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He could fix anything and would show up with tools in hand whenever his children couldn't. He showed up to every event with his stadium seat to cheer for the kids and critique the coaches. Dave had a quiet and caring demeanor which endeared him to all. His wit, charm, and compassion blessed the lives of everyone he knew. His presence in this world will be truly missed by his family and friends, but his arrival in his heavenly home is a comfort to us all.

In Memory of James Edward Knaff

It is always sad to report the passing of another classmate. He was married to Anna Marie Henley Knaff for 50 years. He departed this life to be with the Lord on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023, at the Blount Memorial Hospital. He worked for over forty-two years for the nuclear facilities in Oak Ridge, Tennessee as a sheet metal mechanic and later as a chemical operator until he retired in the fall of 2007. He was licensed to preach on February 12, 1984.

He loved God, family, good food, watching football, and classic cars. He loved to praise the Lord and was not ashamed of the God he served. . His favorite saying was, "I may not know what the future holds; but I thank God I know He holds my future in his mighty hands."

Peggy Reese
In Memory of Jan Baker Pitts

This is happening all too frequently:  It is with great sadness that I share that our dear friend and classmate Jan Baker Pitts has passed away.  Jan was such a warrior as she fought ALS also known as Lou Gehrig disease for the last several years.  She moved to Foley, Al in 2018 hoping to enhance her retirement years but a few years later was diagnosed with ALS.  She never lost her humour or the spark in her eyes.  She was always a joy and could get a good laugh out of most everyone.  She will definitely be missed by her family as well as her classmates of  Rockwood High School.
